In the opera category, Jana Šrejma Kačírková received the award for her role as Julietta in the production Three Fragments from Juliette / The Human Voice of the Brno National Theater. For the puppet theater, actor Ondřej Nosálek received the Thalia Award for the role of Zátopek in the production Zá-to-pek from the repertoire of the Minor Prague theater. In the category of alternative theater, Jakub Gottwald succeeded for the production Ur-fascism of the project STK Theater Concept and Landscape of the Tide Prague.

The Thalia Award for a young artist under the age of 33, won by Josef Láska from the East Bohemian Theater in Pardubice, has also been announced. Jaroslav Vostrý received the Czech Academy of Theater Award for extraordinary contribution to Czech theater. The award for spreading theatrical art on television went to cinematographer Josef Špelda. He also works as a teacher at FAMU, for example, he shot Saturnina.

The announcement of the Thalia Awards 2020 took place in a live online broadcast from the BEA channel studio in Olomouc, accompanied in the evening by the President of the Actors’ Association, Ondřej Kepka.
