The technological HessTec will move its energy storage laboratory to Valencia

VALENCIA. Valencia has become a benchmark in energy and environment and increasingly, companies are looking to the city to settle. This has been decided by the Seville technology company HessTec (Hybrid Energy Storage Solutions), which in the coming months will move its energy storage laboratory to Valencia.

The company, who works with companies like Endesa or Enel, combines different technologies, reducing the cost of energy storage and making it more effective. “Energy storage has always been a bit like the Holy Grail of smart grid and networks. But it is like the eternal promise, it seems that it never comes, “he acknowledges Eugenio Domínguez, CEO of the company.

“We try to value and make sense of it, to truly solve the problems with those storage technologies that already exist in the market,” he says. A solution that ranges from a regular electrical grid to a solution for renewables. “Through our intelligence systems we seek to make storage useful and profitable. “

Currently, the company has its facilities in Seville. “One of the big problems companies like us have is that testing this at full scale is very complicated. So we had to create a full-scale test lab to simulate a distribution network,” he explains. This laboratory, which will now be in Valencia, is unique in Spain and a pioneer in Europe.

Domínguez highlights a closed collaboration agreement with ICEX as well as projects that are going to start with Valencian companies. “We are also helping startups like Zeleros in the development of the storage part they need, “he explains, while highlighting his connection with Avaesen.” There is also a political decision to try to make Valencia a benchmark in storage and try to attract European initiatives. ”

With all this commitment, they will begin to move their facilities to the province in summer, which will be ready at the end of the year, which will be available not only to the company, but to other companies in the sector. At the moment they are probing various locations and are looking for a space of between 600 and 800 square meters. The company will maintain a technology office in Seville while in Valencia they will hire between 10 and 12 highly qualified people.
