With 31 votes in favor, the Oaxaca Congress made the decision to ban the sale of “junk food” to children, an initiative that seeks to address the “obesity epidemic” experienced by children in Mexico.
This caused confederations, Chambers and national and state associations to ensure that the decision will affect the entire value chain of the agri-food industry, artisan producers and small businesses.
The initiative, proposed by the Morena deputy Magaly López Domínguez, was also taken advantage of by netizens, who shared on social networks memes about the new reality of children in Oaxaca.
After a state police operation in conjunction with the army, Servando “N” was arrested in Oaxava at the “Esperancita” grocery store. Individual packages were seized, presumably from Totis and Doritos, which he sold to minors with salsa and lemon. pic.twitter.com/8Qm8OsbXE4
