Zubair bin Awwam is one of them friend of the prophet who poured out their wealth and strength to fight on the path of Allah SWT. According to one narrative, the angel Gabriel once looked like him.
The story was narrated by Urwah bin Zubair as narrated by As’ad Muhammad in the book Humans coveted by heaven.
It is said that when the Battle of Badr occurred, Zubair bin Awwam was wearing a yellow turban and at that time the angel Gabriel came down to help the Muslim army by simulating his shape as the body shape of the clothes, as well as that of Zubair bin Awwam turban.
During the Battle of Badr, Zubair bin Awwam managed to kill his uncle, Naufal bin Khuwailid bin Asad. At that time his uncle was in the ranks of the polytheists.
When the battle of Uhud raged, the prophet SAW saw a polytheistic man who was very good at fighting and had defeated many Muslims. Seeing this, the SAW prophet said to Zubair bin Awwam: “Rise, O Zubair, fight it.”
Receiving direct orders from the Prophet Muhammad SAW, Zubair bin Awwam stood up and attacked the polytheist man. There was a tough battle between the two. Until the end friend of the prophet he managed to win the battle and the enemy was killed.
The entirety of Zubair bin Awwam in jihad was also seen during the Khandak War. At that time, the Prophet SAW said, “Which of you is ready to bring me news of Banu Quraidah?”
Hearing this question, none of the friends spoke. Seeing this, Zubair bin Awwam finally spoke. “I am the Messenger of Allah”, he said he.
After receiving approval from the Prophet Muhammad, Zubair bin Awwam immediately rushed to Persia to seek news of the Banu Quraidhah. After completing his mission, he returned to Medina to convey the news to the Prophet Muhammad.
On the next occasion, the Prophet SAW also made a similar request. Again only Zubair bin Awwam, the only one friend of the prophet who firmly and loudly offered to do the task.
The SAW prophet even bragged about Zubair bin Awwam for always helping him. He said:
Because every prophet is a dialogue and al-Zubayr’s dialogue
“Every prophet has a helper (disciple), and my disciple is Zubair bin ‘Awwam”. (HR. Bukhari Muslim)
