According to information gathered in Simeulue, Monday, a resident who was paralyzed after being injected with the COVID-19 vaccine was named Jumisni (35). He participated in the COVID-19 vaccine vaccination in Teupah Selatan District, Simeulue Regency, Friday (17/9).
“The day after getting vaccinated, my sister didn’t feel well. Fever, dizziness, then the body feels numb. However, he was still trying to hold it in because he thought it was just a common cold,” said Ros, Jusmini’s sister, quoting ANTARA.
Then, continued Ros, on Sunday (26/9), Jusmini could no longer move her legs and she could only sleep at her house. Then, the family took Jusmini to the Simeulue Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
The village head of Lataling Agusman said that the residents who took part in the vaccination made a savings book for the Family Hope Program (PKH) fund at the sub-district government center.
“When they make PKH savings, the recipients are first injected with the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Agusman.
The Head of the Medical Services Division at the Simeulue Hospital Maulina Sri Rizki said that the paralysis symptoms experienced by the patient Jusmini were suspected after the COVID-19 immunization was called KIPI.
“Events like this are likely to occur in patients after COVID-19 immunization. However, after being treated the patient will come back better, “said Maulina.
Maulina invites the people of Simeulue to be enthusiastic about participating in the Covid-19 vaccination because this vaccine can increase human immunity against the corona virus which is still endemic.
If you experience nausea, vomiting, dizziness, after undergoing COVID-19 vaccination, immediately report to medical officers in the village or vaccination officers wherever they are, so that incidents like this do not happen again.
Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Simeulue Farhan, said that Jusmini’s incident occurred in one or two patients after the COVID-19 vaccine was vaccinated.
