Frost Giant Games studio launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Stormgate strategy on December 5th – and managed to raise $700 thousand in just 24 hours. By December 9, this figure had almost doubled: at the time of writing, the game had rang $1,262,257.
It is noteworthy that the campaign to finance the game would have been successful even if the authors had been able to collect only 100 thousand. Now the players just have to collect another 500 thousand dollars in order to “close” all the studio’s above-plan goals. Moreover, the chances of doing this are very high: the Kickstarter campaign will end only in 54 days.
Let us remember that the Frost Giant studio was opened by people from Activision Blizzard, who worked on such cult strategies as Warcraft 3 and StarCraft II. At The Game Awards 2023, the authors showed a short trailer, where, among other things, they named the window for Stormgate’s release into “early access”:
