Randesund G19 0–3 Start G19

On Tuesday night, the Randesund juniors welcomed Start to compete on a cold autumn evening at Sukkevann. Series leaders Start were big favorites ahead of the match, and met expectations. The yellow-clad finally took all three points and won comfortably with three goals away against table jumbo Randesund.

– Randesund does not have very many goal chances. Our game can get better especially in the second round. It is still a fully deserved victory, says Start coach Erik Mykland to Fædrelandsvennen after the match.

Sander Svela sent Start in the lead in the first round. After seeing the replay, it may look like it was a Randesund player who was last away in the ball, but the Start striker is determined that he is the one to be credited for the goal.

– That’s my goal, no doubt about it. Now we go to win the remaining matches, Svela says after the match.

Left-back Lyder Daland played a very good match for Start. The young boy says that it is fun with local settlements, and that it is fun that the three points are brought home to Lund.

– It is dead fun to play against local teams. It is a different artificial grass than what we use at Sør Arena, but I am happy and it was fun, says Daland.

Deserved Start Management

Start’s young boys controlled most of what was happening on the field in the first round. It would take seven minutes before Sander Svela was played in the back room. The striker came to a finish that went aside for goal.

A few minutes later, the Start striker came to an end again. This time he was put under pressure, and did not get the chance to score.

Before half an hour had passed, it was finally going to loosen up for Svela. A duel for the ball in midfield ended with the ball going via a Randesund player, and to Svela who suddenly got a free run alone with the goalkeeper. The goal guarantor made no mistake, and sent the away team into the lead.

Randesund also had a couple of finishes, and came to a great opportunity just before the break without being able to get a reduction.

Start was by far the best team, and deservedly went to the break with a one-goal lead.

Full control

In the second round, Start continued where they left off in the first 45 minutes of the match. The yellow-clad dominated the match, and created several great chances.

After one hour played, Start doubled the lead. The ball ended up in the legs of August Fredriksen in the box, who exquisitely flicked the ball further with the heel of Preben Hille who could easily put in Start’s second goal for the evening.

Series leader Start did not give up there. Quarter before the end, left-back Lyder Daland decided to set up the turbo. The left-back started the race on his own half of the track, and stormed up along the left side. He got the ball in a good position and served teammate Daniel Berglund who scored Start’s third and final goal of the evening.

– We’re just not good enough. We wanted to do well at home, but they are better than us and we did not get it, says Randesund player William Johnsen after the match.

The victory means that Start took a big step towards the league championship. With two games left of the season, the yellow-clad lead with six points down to Vigør which is in 2nd place.
