Robert Rodriguez came to direct up to four installments of Spy Kidsin addition to performing the spin-off of The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Now, a new family will be the object of the convoluted and comical situations raised by the director. Another opportunity for the comedic side of Ryan Reynolds?

The protagonists of the first adventure were Carmen and Juni Cortez, the children of a parent who had been kidnapped by TV star Floop. The little Cortez soon discover that their parents are actually spies for a secret organization, a secret that will lead them to search for all their gadgets and go on a crashed rescue mission.
