The spirit of New York invaded the Vicente López waterfront

A sunny afternoon on the Vicente López waterfront was the setting for Carolina Herrera’s “212 Heroes Run”, on its tenth anniversary, which once again brought the energy of Manhattan to the streets of Buenos Aires. The day, which brought together some 2,000 runners, was a new invitation to claim the city as a space for experimentation and self-expression.

“It is a very special day, today we celebrate our tenth anniversary with the Carolina Herrera 10k, which has already been attended by more than 20,000 runners,” said Pablo Mortstedt, VP Latam South of PUIG Argentina. “The main idea is to collaborate with society. From the first race, the idea was to support a social entity and for more than 10 years we have been doing it with Casa Garrahan, the home that the Garrahan Foundation offers a home for children undergoing complex medical treatment, donating part of the proceeds from the race.

With an almost spring temperature in the middle of autumn, on a mega stage with the river in the background, the event began with Agustina Casanova and Juan Marconi conducting and they were accompanied by DJ Otto Bunge, who provided music for the entire event.

At 5:00 p.m., from the intersection of Raúl Ricardo Alfonsín Avenue and Julio Argentino Roca Avenue, there was a unique start, full of energy, joy and youth, the values that Carolina Herrera has always promoted. Those who did not want to miss an afternoon in the open air next to the brand were Zaira Nara and Julián Serrano, who encouraged the runners and participated in all the activities offered by the 212 Heroes Experience – a 15-meter street with various entertainment proposals.

During the afternoon, runners and companions were able to take part in different experiences such as scenarios for photos with the skate that represents 212 Heroes for Her, or games to take a sample of the fragrance that had a great turnout. Like the glitter makeup stand, which added fun and joy, or the massage tent, which was among the most chosen to relax after completing the circuit. Art was also present with the live intervention of a graffiti artist who captured the concept of the encounter in pure color on a mural in which he invited the public to leave their message.

The day was a new invitation to claim the city as a space for experimentation and self-expression.

The podium of the race was completed with Sergio Escobar Castillo, first place in the general men’s category with 32:57 minutes, followed by Facundo Pazos and Mariano Díaz, in second and third place, respectively. While, in the women’s category, the first place was conquered by Fernanda Oropel, in 37:47 minutes, followed by María José Silvestre. With their medal hanging, the runners highlighted the correct choice of the circuit that throughout the 10 kilometers had nature and the river as protagonists.

Eternal youth and freedom

This is what inspires the new fragrance 212 Heroes for her by Carolina Herrera, which combines raspberry with hints of mandarin in a 100% vegan formula. The meeting included different activities to learn about the male and female versions of the perfume. “The achievement is about being your own hero and completing a race is about being your own hero. From the brand, we believe that youth is not a matter of age but an attitude towards life and that is what we promote”, concludes Mortstedt.
