Ten former local song contest participants will celebrate with moderator Andi Knoll from April 14th, namely the “small” ESC proclaimed by ORF.

The prominent jury, which ranges from old stars like Waterloo to 2018 participant Cesár Sampson, will judge the 41 official videos of the songs that were intended for the regular 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. As is well known, the mega event planned for May 12-16 cannot take place because of the Corona crisis.

On April 14, 16 and 18, Andi Knoll is inviting from 8:15 p.m. under the title “Mr. Song Contest proudly presents – The little song contest on ORF 1 for a virtual competition. In addition to Waterloo and Cesar Sampson, Simone, Petra Frey, Manuel Ortega, Alf Poier, Eric Papilaya, Nadine Beiler, Conchita, and Zoe rate each song of small betting singing – entirely in the spirit of the legendary international ESC voting – individually with up to 12 points.

After the third edition, three jury winner videos have been selected. From these, the audience can then crown their favorites for the ESC video winner 2020. There is also the possibility for viewers to leave comments via Twitter (#ESCORF), the best of which will then be shown via teletext.

The ARD meanwhile takes over the EBU joint program “Europe Shine a Light” on May 16. In the live show from Hilversum in the Netherlands, all 41 ESC performers will sing the 1997 Eurovision winning song “Love Shine A Light” by Katrina and the Waves from 9 p.m. In addition, there should be 150 minutes of switching across the entire continent, lots of music and some surprise appearances.
