The skills of dancing couples in StarDance will be tested by expressive dance

They were the first to demonstrate the waltz Tomáš Verner with Kristýna Coufalová. “Technical quality is high, but I lack artistic value, more emotions,” said Tatiana Drexler. Another juror, Jan Toman, said similarly: “It was fireworks, but he didn’t shoot that high.” “It was a difficult choreography, but I was expecting a softer waltz that would slide more,” concluded Zdeněk Chlopčík. The pair eventually scored 34 points.

However, the expression dance captivated the jury and applauded the couple while standing. “Amazing, I would never dance like that,” said Jan Toman. “Today you danced for the first time today,” added Zdeněk Chlopčík. The couple danced 40 points for their expressive dance.

Jive danced Jan Cina with Adriana Mašková. But the jury was not very pleased. “It was great, but it was missing. It was everything but rhythm, ”Titana Drexler began. Jan Toman and Zdeněk Chlopčík had similar evaluations. “Great show, but it wants more dancing,” Toman said, adding Zdeněk Chlopčík: “It was easy, but it wasn’t live.” Moderator Marek Eben evaluated the harsh criticism: “This is not an evaluation, but a postcovide syndrome.”

Paso doble was shown by the pastor Martina Viktorie Kopecká and Marek Dědík. The jury was more merciful this time, trying to motivate rather than criticize. “It was good, from what I’ve seen before. But when you find out that you have knees and can bend … ”said Richard Genzer. “Extreme effort was seen, but it was very monotonous. Paso doble is colorful, ”said Zdeněk Chlopčík. In the end, the couple danced 30 points from the jury.

The last couple to perform their dance skills in the first part of the evening was Tereza Černochová and Dominik Vodička. They danced the waltz and earned great praise from the jury. “A beautiful, soft waltz that slid across the floor,” Zdeněk Chlopčík praised. Other jurors expressed similar views. Jan Toman was amazed at what Tereza dances do for hundreds of hours, ie posture, in a few months. The pair scored 37 points.

Another coronavirus strike

The coronavirus again entered the competition a few days ago. Singer Mirai Navrátil had a positive test on covid-19. He missed one round due to quarantine, and according to the rules, he ends up in the show. The musician’s dance partner was Lenka Nora Návorková, who announced that she was also positive.

The script and dancing couples have changed several times this year for StarDance. At the end of October, the contest moderator Tereza Kostková did not perform due to the cover and was replaced by Aleš Háma. Due to the quarantine, actress Simona Babčáková and Martin Prágr and Navrátil did not dance with Návorková. In the following rounds, professional dancers were exchanged in some pairs, and the change also affected the jury, in which Václav Kuneš took the place of Zdeněk Chlopčík.

The audience did not let actors Zdeněk Godla, Pavel Trávníček, actress Marika Šoposka and tennis player Andrea Sestina Hlaváčková into the next round. Actress Simona Babčáková resigned due to health reasons.

The first part of this year’s 11th year of the competition was watched by an average of 1.618 million spectators over the age of 15. It was the most watched opening night of the StarDance competition on Czech Television since 2008.
