The shooting star Renate Reinsve in Cannes:

Renate Reinsve has a slight cold when she meets the Norwegian and international press in Cannes. But in the film city, it’s easy to get denied if you’re infected with the corona, so she does interviews.

The main role in “The World’s Worst Man” was given to her the same day she learned that she was pregnant. The filming was postponed due to the corona, so she managed to have both a son and to play in the film to director Joachim Trier. The film premiered on Thursday, and in several of the reviews she is highlighted as a star.

– I had prepared so well and was so ready, so when I first stood there it was so overwhelming, says Renate Reinsve about going on the red carpet in Cannes.

She did pirouettes like a pro, so the black prom dress would come to her right in front of a sea of cameras. “We love you, Renate,” said the French interviewer from Canal +.

Inside the hall, she and the others from the film team were greeted with applause, and after the film there was standing ovations for eight minutes. The film participates in the main program in Cannes and competes with 23 others for the Palme d’Or.

– Korona was a blessing

She is full of praise for director Joachim Trier and the recording. Due to the pandemic, the recording was completed in fewer days and with fewer people during the filming. Renate experienced it as a blessing.

The film is about Julie, who despite being a cool, funny and smart woman, staggers through life and has a hard time deciding how and with whom she wants to live. Renate thinks she has a lot in common with Julie.

– Have you had or do you have a dream about Hollywood?

– It would have been fun to see what it is. It’s certainly not the way you think it is. But I am very happy to work in Norway as well.

Must cuddle and squeeze

She has some secret film projects underway and will work at the National Theater.

But first and foremost family life and vacation.
