The Shocking Truth: Military Junta Regime’s Devastation in Myanmar Revealed

Jakarta

Military Junta Regime in Myanmar it’s just getting ridiculous. This is known through reports United Nations (UN) on current conditions in Myanmar.

Reportedly, the military junta also moved through militias (armed civilians). The violence that occurred in Myanmar included bombing from the air.

As reported Associated PressWednesday (9/8/2023), the report was submitted by the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar or IIMM, which was formed by the UN Human Rights Council in 2018 to monitor violations of international law in Myanmar.

In its report, the IIMM stated that it had found compelling evidence during the 12 months ending last June, showing that the Myanmar army and militias were indiscriminately and disproportionately targeting civilians with bombs, carrying out mass executions of those detained during operations and carried out the burning of civilian houses on a large scale.

IIMM also said that it was gathering evidence that could be used in future prosecutions against the parties responsible.

“Every life lost in Myanmar is tragic, but the devastation the entire community has suffered through aerial bombardment and burning of villages is shocking,” IIMM chairman Nicholas Koumjian said in a statement.

“The evidence we have obtained points to a dramatic increase in war crimes and crimes against humanity in the country, with widespread and systematic attacks against civilians, and we are building case files that the courts can use to hold individual perpetrators accountable,” he said.

Myanmar has been in turmoil since the military seized power from Aung San Suu Kyi’s civilian government in February 2021, sparking massive protests that were met with a deadly crackdown by the military junta.
