The Shocking Original Price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max Revealed by Counterpoint

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – HP made by Apple, the iPhone, is known to be expensive. Moreover, the most sophisticated version of the iPhone, namely the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the most expensive type, is sold for more than IDR 30 million.

Apparently, the original price of the iPhone was not as expensive as the selling price. Even Apple’s newest cellphone, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, is reported to be only around IDR 7 million.

In the Bill of Materials (BoM) report, Counterpoint revealed the original price of the Pro Max variant. The reported price for mmWave is US$474 or IDR 7.2 million.

Counterpoint explains that the price is higher than its predecessor. According to the report, the price of the iPhone 14 Pr Max is up from the iPhone 13 Pro Max by 3.7%.

“Assuming a 44% mmWave mix (by the end of 2022), the cost of the mix for the iPhone 14 Pro Max is around US$464, an increase of 3.7% compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max,” Counterpoint said, quoted from its official website, Thursday ( 16/2/2023).

The increase was due to several components such as the application processor, display and camera. Meanwhile the original price for the sub-6Hz model is even cheaper. Counterpoint said the BoM for this model costs US$ 454 or Rp. 6.8 million.

For information, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the most expensive variant of the new line of phones. The Pro Max variant offers four storage options, namely 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, up to 1TB.

For 128GB storage, the original price is IDR 21,999,000. Meanwhile, other variants worth IDR 24,999,000 (256GB), IDR 28,999,000 (512GB), and IDR 32,999,000 (1TB).

The iPhone 14 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Apple also provides a new design on the notch called Dynamic Island, leaving the old design.

This phone also has a main lens on the back measuring 48MP. The camera is accompanied by two lenses, namely 12MP (ultrawide) + 12MP (telephoto).
