The Sharjah Academy for Space and Astronomy Presents Research Papers at International Astronautical Congress

Sharjah, 9 October / WAM / The Sharjah Academy for Space and Astronomy Science and Technology, affiliated with the University of Sharjah, reviewed 23 research papers discussing various topics in space and astronomy, during the activities of the 74th International Astronautical Congress, which was held under the slogan “Global Challenges and Opportunities: Give Space.” Opportunity” in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

The Academy participated, through its laboratories and departments, in presenting effective research projects in the space and astronomy sector, to strengthen its ties and open broader horizons in various academic and scientific fields. A number of scientific papers presented by an elite group of researchers and engineers at the Academy were also presented, including a research paper entitled “Classification of Martian Craters Using LightGBM.” ” which works to explore the geological history of the emergence of the solar system and determine potential landing sites for spacecraft, as well as a research paper entitled: “The Growth of Cube Satellite Industries in the Arabian Gulf” to count the efforts of the Arabian Gulf. Another paper also dealt with the topic: “Classification of radio data received from spectrometers.” “Radio Sun” with the aim of providing an innovative solution to accelerate the observation of solar radio waves using the latest technology tools represented by artificial intelligence, in addition to the scientific paper entitled: “Spectral classification of selected stellar X-ray sources in the Small Magellanic Cloud”, and a scientific paper entitled: “Monitoring the collision of a DART mission Through the Sharjah Optical Observatory and other scientific research.

Dr. Elias Ferneni, Director of the Space Sciences Department, confirmed that this conference is considered to be of great importance due to its coverage of all fields that serve space and astronomy sciences, with the participation and presence of an elite group of scientists and participants with scientific experience, exchanging knowledge, and establishing distinguished research relationships and partnerships, as this participation comes to highlight Scientific research at the University of Sharjah and the academy in the field of space science and astronomy applications and learning about the latest scientific and practical developments in this field, indicating that the research presented at the conference will be published in the conference’s publications.
