the #secret account of S. Moreau and Nethys to take it easy

The new team which is now at the head of Nethys commissioned a report from Deloitte Consulting concerning the former management, which included the former mayor of Ans, Stéphane Moreau. But also Pol Heyse and Bénédicte Bayer. The mission was to analyze 9 million financial transactions, between 2017 to 2019, concerning Nethys and Voo but also Elicio, Win and Éditions de l’Avenir, which belonged to the same group. Gil Simon, the current CEO of Resa, is also implicated.

The report was communicated and La Meuse, l’Echo and Le Vif, noted the existence of a bank account at ING through which more than 42 million euros of unjustified or very poorly justified expenses passed. ‘between 2017 and 2018. This account was ultra-confidential and escaped the supervision of the financial director (Pol Heyse) who, however, kept certain documents relating to it in a simple filing cabinet. (It was this binder, found in the offices of the former management on rue Louvrex, that put the new management team in the ear in 2019.) PwC, the auditor of Nethys, does not is not worried either when he was called upon to control the internal invoices used to feed the account. This was in particular supplied thanks to internal flat-rate invoices paid without asking questions, in an imposed normality.

There are also several million loans from the insurer Integrale (owned by Nethys). Thanks in particular to credit cards, payments were made for trips to Knokke, Paris, Madrid, Houston, Congo, Las Vegas (€ 12,000 for 10 days). We also note the payment of more than 15,000 € of minutes for vehicles of the Nethys fleet. The examples are variegated: 9,000 euros at the Château des Thermes de Chaudfontaine, 30,000 euros for bottles of wine or 1,800 euros paid in a Géant supermarket in Saint-Tropez. There were also cash withdrawals, fees during festivals, pharmacy expenses… All without valid justifications In short, the good life!

This account was also used to pay the salaries and expenses of fifteen people close to the former management team, some of whom had an occupation that can be described as fictitious. Since then, six of them have been dismissed; which has enabled Nethys to save 979,000 euros per year. Among these excluded people: Charlène Renier, responsible for innovation within the Nethys group (125,000 euros gross per year) and official companion of Stéphane Moreau who had fictitiously moved in with him, and Patrice Lempereur, current municipal councilor PS in Ans, who was remunerated as an advisor to the CEO of Nethys and to whom 25,451 euros were allocated to purchase stamps in large quantities for shipments related to his political activities or those of S. Moreau.
