Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – It has been decided that the Saudi national team will play 3 friendly matches, in preparation for participating in the 2023 Asian Cup finals, which will be held in Qatar between next January and February.
The “Green” team will face the Lebanese, Hong Kong, and Palestinian national teams on days 4, 9, and 10, respectively, in the first month of next year, within the team’s camp in the Qatari capital, Doha, before the start of the Yellow Continent Championship finals.
Recently, the Saudi national team, under the leadership of Roberto Mancini, achieved two victories over the Jordan national team with two unanswered goals and the Pakistan national team by four, in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.
The “Green” team is located in the sixth group in the finals of the Yellow Continent Championship in its next edition, along with the teams: Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, and the Sultanate of Oman.
The Saudi national team previously won the Asian Cup three times, during the years 1984, 1988 and 1996.
