Discussions about the detention and scandalous actions of the deputy Alda Gobzem this week in the Saeima Commission for Mandates, Ethics and Submissions have not been initiated, TV3 News reports.
The Commission does not intend to address the issue of the arrest of Gobzem, which was repeatedly carried out by the police in opposition to law enforcement and uncoordinated protests.

Janīna Kursīte-Pakule (NA), Chair of the Mandates Commission, will not raise this issue, although she admits that comments and opinions in the public sphere are interesting. For example, constitutional law expert Jānis Pleps has stated that the immunity of a deputy does not give the right to terminate the violation of the law.

These days, Gobzem is holding a number of protests in several cities, during which police officers are being severely reprimanded.
The state police has generally started against Gobzem 21 administrative violation proceedings on possible violations in events in the cities of Kurzeme and Zemgale.
