FLY – Moscow war in progress Ukraine increasingly heated along with the entry of Western arms supplies to Kiev. President Russia Vladimir Putin revealed that there were 318,000 people who were recruited into army reservists to carry out combat missions.

According to the Kremlin leader, the 318,000 reservists were the result of a recent partial military mobilization. Of that number, 49,000 of them served combat missions in Ukraine.

Speaking at a meeting with volunteers in Moscow on the anniversary of Unity Day on Friday, Putin explained that the number exceeded the expected 300,000 because many citizens volunteered for military service.

“We already have 318,000 (people mobilized). Because volunteers are coming,” Putin said, quoted by AnadolùSaturday (5/11/2022).

President Putin promised that the state would provide all necessary support to the families of those who took part in Russian “special military operations” in Ukraine.

When asked about the evacuation of civilians from the city of Kherson, Putin said it was because he was too close to the combat zone.

He added that civilians were being asked to leave the area to avoid casualties.

Putin also said that Russian authorities are working to facilitate document release procedures for Ukrainian refugees who fled to Russia.

“Right now we are making a decision that allows for these documents to be received in a simplified way. And we will improve these tools. We will definitely work on it,” he said.

From 21 September to 28 October, Russia carried out a partial military mobilization, during which 300,000 members were enrolled in the army reservists.

Last week, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said the partial military mobilization ended on Monday.

Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov reported that all mobilization activities had been completed, and therefore the military commissariat stopped issuing and sending notifications and returned to routine work.
