The Russian military was able to take under fire control two main supply routes for Ukrainian troops in Bakhmut – these are the roads leading to the city from Slavyansk and Konstantinovka. This was told to the correspondents of Current Time by the Ukrainian military who are defending Bakhmut. Now they are preparing for street fighting.
The military and volunteers who bring humanitarian aid to Bakhmut and are still trying to take people out of there tell about what is happening in one of the hot spots of Donbass. Now it has become many times more dangerous, since the main road along which all these humanitarian trips were carried out is now fired upon by the Russian military. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declare: the goal of the Russian troops is the city of Konstantinovka.

Volunteers say that the main road to Bakhmut, leading to Konstantinovka, is already under the fire control of the Russian military. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed this.
“Indeed, the situation in Bakhmut is now a difficult one. I report: the enemy is pressing from all sides, his possible successes from the north side will somehow complicate the situation in Bakhmut, as we see the southern part, where the situation is dynamic and it is not pleasant”, – said the commander of the aerial reconnaissance group with the call sign Madyar.
In the trenches near Bakhmut, the fire does not subside even for a minute. In the city itself, fierce battles are also being fought on the outskirts. In his daily summary, a fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign Kiyanin says: Russian troops are continuously assaulting Bakhmut, using all kinds of weapons, and now not only Wagner PMC fighters:
“Everyone was mixed up: the Wagner PMC, the landing force, and the motorized infantry. They climb like cockroaches,” – says Kiyanin.
According to him, in connection with this, reinforcements came to Bakhmut: “Now a glorious brigade, a glorious regiment has arrived there. Now the guys are correcting the situation that they inherited. There are very famous Cossacks who know their job.”
Who these soldiers are, the Ukrainian General Staff does not say, but the day before, a video appeared on the social network from a fighter of the 93rd mechanized brigade. According to him, “Bakhmut under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but the enemy leaves no hope of advancing.”
He also spoke about the situation in the city: “The paths have been cleaned, as you can see, there are still residents in some entrances.”
Due to heavy shelling, there are practically no people on the streets of Bakhmut, but not everyone left, they just hide: “This is how they cook on the street, firewood, a saucepan is at the entrance, a fire,” says the volunteer.
Taking people out of Bakhmut is becoming more dangerous every day, say those who deliver humanitarian supplies to the city and persuade the population to leave.
“We always visited this address to visit our grandmother, to Platonych, they brought food. And this is what we just arrived and saw: the house was completely destroyed, I don’t know where these grandmothers are,” says one of the volunteers.
According to the Donetsk regional military administration, between five and eight thousand people still remain in Bakhmut, including several hundred children. Approaching Bakhmut, you can still see a man who sells fish by the road.
