At the age of 80, the drummer of the legendary rock band “The Rolling Stones” Charlie Watts has passed away. He has been a member of the Musical Association since its inception in 1963.
As stated in the announcement of Watts’ death, he was not only one of the best drummers of his generation, but also a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. It was previously reported that Watts would miss the group’s US tour to recover from the medical procedure. In 2004, the musician was treated for a neck tumor.
Musicians, on the other hand, recall that Watts was born in the British capital, London, in 1941, into the family of a truck driver. At the age of 14, he became interested in jazz, but a few years later he met Mike Jagger, the leader of the future group.
Many celebrities have paid tribute to the departed, including Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Elton John.
A very sad day. Charlie Watts was the ultimate drummer. The most stylish of men, and such brilliant company. My deepest condolences to Shirley, Seraphina and Charlotte. And of course, The Rolling Stones.
