The RN protests against immigration

About thirty people gathered in front of the Gironde prefecture behind a banner crossed out with the words: “Immigration that’s enough”. The National Rally organized this Sunday a series of demonstrations in front of the prefectures of the region.

An event which intends to denounce the national scheme for the reception of asylum seekers and the integration of refugees: “the Ile de France is saturated and this will heavily impact the New Aquitaine Region”, explains Edwige Diaz, Gironde manager of National gathering. Identical events have taken place in Charente-Maritime, in the Landes, in Corrèze and therefore in Bordeaux.

Strategy

“For Aquitaine we will go from 400 asylum seekers per month to nearly a thousand, advance Edwige Diaz. All this without consultation, we consult on everything in this country never on immigration”.

The National Rally is making the subject the heart of its electoral and ideological strategy in view of the electoral tunnel in the coming months (departmental, regional, and presidential in 2022). The following are mentioned: “migratory madness”, the “cost of hosting”, “the land of the rights of others” or even “making them leave rather than welcome them”. A speech with xenophobic overtones? Jacques Colombier, veteran regional adviser of RN Girondin, denies such an interpretation: “It is not a question of hatred or racism, but immigration poses a problem in this country”.
