Reply : The Saltworks of Pesquiers

Les Pesquiers was a salt marsh and a fishing area, until 1848 when two of the site’s fishermen caused disagreements by successfully having the fishery sold at auction. They appropriated the entire pond to make it only a salt extraction area.
