The 2023 “New Era Rural Reading Season” jointly launched by the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently displayed a series of results and released “One Hundred Kinds of Books Favored by Farmers”. Three kinds of books from one activity in our district were on the list. Among them, Guangxi’s 2023 “New Era Rural Reading Season” and on-site exchange activities to improve the quality and efficiency of farm bookstores were selected as the 2023 “New Era Rural Reading Season” demonstration activity. This activity has been on the list for two consecutive years; Guangxi People’s Publishing House’s “Red Cultural Relics” “The Growth History of the Party”, “Comic Diabetes” by Guangxi Science and Technology Press, and “Returning Hometown” by Guangxi Normal University Press were selected into the “Top 100 Books Favored by Farmers”.
The 2022 “New Era Rural Reading Season” and on-site exchange activities to improve the quality and efficiency of rural bookstores organized by the Propaganda Department of the Autonomous Region Party Committee ranked 8th among the 12 outstanding demonstration activities of the 2022 “New Era Rural Reading Season”. This year, the event is jointly sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department of the Autonomous Region, and the Rural Revitalization Bureau of the Autonomous Region to further promote the quality and efficiency of farm bookstores, lead a new trend of rural reading, and help rural revitalization. According to incomplete statistics, our district has currently built more than 15,000 farmhouse bookstores, covering all administrative villages in the district, and has built more than 400 “farmhouse reading corners”. We are also exploring rural reading and new-era civilization such as reading promotion and volunteer services. Practice a series of activities and achieve fruitful results.
As one of the key activities of the “New Era Rural Reading Season”, the “100 Books Favored by Farmers” selection activity has been held for the fifth time since it was held in 2019. A total of 12 kinds of books have been selected in Guangxi, covering politics, economics, science and technology, Medical and health life, culture, children and other categories provide high-quality spiritual food for the farmers.
