The residents of Prague also honored the International Day of Brisk Walking

Bend your knees, take two steps forward and kick with your left or right foot. The people who went to the center of Prague after lunch on Sunday to honor the international Day of the nimble walk looked like they were learning to walk. Hundreds of fans of the cult skit from the Monty Python series joined the staggering procession, and some even dressed accordingly. In bowler hats and black suits, they walked along the busy promenade at Na Příkopy.

Hundreds of fans of the iconic scene from the British series Monty Python’s Flying Circus joined the staggering procession, and some even dressed accordingly. International Brisk Walking Day, which falls on January 7, is traditionally celebrated in Brno. This year, however, people honored him in several Czech cities, including Prague.

The procession, which in some places seemed to be from another century, started at two o’clock in the afternoon from the Palladium shopping center. It was lively here a few minutes before the start. The event attracted an estimated over two hundred people. There were no limits to creativity, the Monty Python enthusiasts took care of both their clothing and the technique of their nimble walk.
