The Macedonian representative of the “Eurovision” song Vasil Garvanliev, who provoked the public with the colors of the Bulgarian flag in the video for the contest, is a Bulgarian citizen, announced BNT.
In a TV interview, asked about his Macedonian citizenship, Garvanliev proudly says that he is also a citizen of Bulgaria.
Garvanliev, who is from the city where Prime Minister Zoran Zaev comes from, explains that in addition to being Macedonian, he also has a Bulgarian passport, which he received because his grandmother was Bulgarian and had distant relatives in Bulgaria.
The shocking thing about Garvanliev’s statement is that he is not talking about two countries, he says he was born in Strumica, which is on the “other side of the country”.
According to his explanation, heard in the video about Garvanliev, there is a country that is divided on two sides and he was born on the “other side”.
