Marek Eben was born on December 18, 1957. Since his youth, he has regularly performed with his brothers in the group Bratři Ebenová. In addition to singing, he also composes and writes songs. As an actor, he worked in the theater and in films, for example he played in many fairy tales.

However, he is best remembered by the general public as a presenter who is clearly one of the best and most sought after. He mainly cooperates with Czech Television, where he has the program Na plovárně and hosts the dance show StarDance. However, Marek Eben does not have only positive events in his life.
The daughter died shortly after birth
In the early 1980s, he met the beautiful actress Markéta Fišerová, with whom he fell in love almost immediately. The spark jumped on both sides, and therefore the presenter decided to propose to his girlfriend. Shortly after the wedding, Markéta informed him that she was expecting a baby. Everything seemed peaceful and the happy couple was looking forward to the arrival of their first daughter.
However, daughter Tereza was born prematurely, in the seventh month. Her life was very short, lasting only seven days. The tragedy was apparently due to health complications that Markéta was overcoming before and during pregnancy. “After the flu, Markéta first got an inflammation of the heart muscle, and then she even had tuberculosis on her lungs,” actress and close friend of Mark Eben, Světlana Nálepková, revealed in her book.
Another life blow came
Shortly after the death of his daughter, another painful event awaited Mark Eben. He almost lost his beloved wife Markéta, who suffered a stroke at the age of 26. Her condition was very serious and the doctors did not give her a very high chance of survival. The symptom was an unbearable headache, with his wife literally screaming in pain. In the end, Markéta fought back, but since the fateful year of 1986, she has been confined to a wheelchair.
“If I didn’t have the finances, I would have to put my wife in an institution. But fortunately, frugality allowed me to take care of her financially and physically, I had enough time,” said Marek Eben in his interview in the past. Although he was able to come to terms with this fate, he has since realized that life is a gift to be cherished. “I’ve taken life too lightly so far. Today I realize that what we have is not free. We have to appreciate it and be happy for what we have. And I’m glad to have my Markétka,” added in the past.
