The Relais des Vignobles: a sports and solidarity festival
But what exactly is the Relais des Vignobles? This is a relay race through five villages: Bessan, Saint-Thibéry, Florensac, Montblanc and Nézignan-l’Evêque. This third edition allows everyone, whether athletic or not, to participate thanks to its five stages, whose distances vary between 6 and 9 km. However, that’s not all: alongside the race, hike through the vineyards of 13 kilometers is also offered, without pressure of stopwatch.
The first editions of the Relais des Vignobles have always been successfulbringing together about 250 participants divided into about fifty teams of 5 runners, as well as about a hundred walkers.
The name of the event, the Relais des Vignobles, refers to the picturesque route through the vineyards. However, it is not only the vineyard that is celebrated, because during the hike, two gourmet stops promote local products. The objective is also to enhance the whole of the terroir.
In addition to its sporting aspect, the Relais des Vignobles has a festive character. After the race, musical entertainment is planned, alongside food trucks to eat. Games and inflatable structures are also set up to entertain the children.thus creating a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
The Relais des Vignobles is also committed to a solidarity approach. Each year, part of the profits are donated to an association. For this edition, the beneficiary association is Fishing Therapywhich offers children with reduced mobility the opportunity to practice fishing activities.
Registration fees remain accessible, at 10 euros per runner for the team race and 5 euros per walker for the hike. Registration for the race is available exclusively on the Nikrome website. For the hike, it is possible to register online or directly on site on the day of the event.
