The red alert for covid-19 already reaches 51 Galician municipalities, one more than on Sunday, according to the ‘traffic light’ map that the Health Department updates every day. They are mainly located in the provinces of Pontevedra (24) and La Coruña (16), followed by Orense (6) and Lugo (5).
This Monday’s update includes the incorporation of the Pontevedra municipality of Gondomar and the Coruña municipality of Ordes and Boqueixón into a red alert, while Xinzo de Limia is incorporated at this level in Ourense. In the province of A Coruña, the municipalities of Muros and Cerceda fall to level two and in that of Pontevedra, Silleda does.
Regarding this province are in red level the municipalities of Baiona, Cambados, Cangas, La Cañiza, La Estrada, Gondomar, O Grove, Marín, Moaña, Mos, Nigrán, Pontevedra, O Porriño, Poio, Ponteareas, Redondela, Ribadumia, Salvaterra de Miño, Soutomaior, Tomiño, Tui, Vigo, Vilagarcía de Arousa and A Guarda.
In La Coruña, Ames, Arteixo, Boqueixón, Cambre, Carballo, La Coruña, Culleredo, Fene, Ferrol, Narón, Oleiros, Ordes, Pontedeume, Santiago, Teo and Vimianzo are in this situation. In the province of Lugo, it remains in those of O Cervo, A Fonsagrada, Lugo, Monforte de Lemos and Viveiro, while in Orense joins Xinzo de Limia, in addition to continuing in red Barbadás, O Carballiño, Orense, Ribadavia and Verín .
The entry into the maximum risk level of all these localities implies that they detected more than 21 cases of coronavirus in the last seven days. However, in cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, the threshold to detect the warning depends on the size: Ferrol –more than 76 cases in a week–, Pontevedra –more than 96–, Santiago –more out of 112–, Lugo –more than 112–, Orense –more than 120–, LaCoruña –more than 276– and Vigo –more than 332–.
Meanwhile, in situation two – in the orange color of the map – there are 20 municipalities, the same number as on Sunday. In the case of La Coruña, Cerceda falls to this level, which appears next to the municipalities of Ares, Arzúa, Malpica, Muros -also goes from level three to two-, Porto do Son, Sada, Valdoviño and Oza-Cesuras .
In Pontevedra, there are Caldas de Reis, Cuntis, Fornelos de Montes, Lalín, Silleda –which goes from red to orange alert–, Vilaboa and Cercedo-Cotobade. In Orense, it is located on the level of San Cibrao das Viñas, while in Lugo Bóveda, Cospeito and Burela are in this situation.
