The recycling centers of the agglomeration of Chartres will reopen but under certain conditions

Closed since the start of containment, the four waste collection centers in Chartres Métropole will reopen from Monday, May 11, but their operation will be adapted to the current health situation.

The main change concerns the recycling centers of Chaunay, Fontenay-sur-Eure, and Champhol. Access will be regulated, alternately, according to the license plates of the vehicles of the users. The days and opening hours of the two devices, however, are not changed.

“On even days, vehicles with even numbers will be able to access the recycling centers of Chaunay and Champhol, and on odd days, they will be vehicles with odd numbers.”

Alain boiret (Community counselor delegated to the collection, treatment and recovery of waste)

This system has been put in place to avoid excessive crowds in the recycling centers. “The last number of the plate is taken into account, not that of the department”, specifies Catherine Royer, director of the waste service of Chartres Métropole.

The collection of selective sorting starts again on Monday April 20 in Chartres and in the agglo

“People have been confined for two months at home. Many have taken advantage of it to tidy up, sort. Locals have asked us to reopen the recycling centers. We are doing it as soon as we deconfinish, but everyone shouldn’t be s “precipitate there from the very first days”, explains Alain Boiret, community councilor delegated to the collection, treatment and recovery of waste.

Waste deposit limited to 15 minutes

Another regulation system is planned for the Dammarie and Saint-Aubin-des-Bois recycling centers, which will be open alternately: when one is open, the other will be closed, except on Thursday, when the two equipment will be closed.

Access to the quays of the four recycling centers in the Chartraine conurbation will be restricted to comply with the rules of social distancing. In Fontenay-sur-Eure, for example, a maximum of 8 users will be authorized simultaneously at platform level. The recycling centers will be closed on public holidays.

Green waste collection resumes service in Chartres and the agglomeration

The deposit will be limited to 15 minutes maximum on each site. Users are therefore asked to sort their waste as soon as it is loaded at their home. It will not be more than two per vehicle and it will not be possible to ask for help from the agents for handling and depositing waste.

“To protect yourself, wearing a mask and gloves is highly recommended,” adds Catherine Royer.

In addition, the distribution of trash bags and kraft paper bags for green waste will resume, from May 13 to June 13, at a single site, at the La Madeleine sports complex, 5 rue des Eparges, in Chartres (Monday, 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m .: Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m .; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.).
