The reason Samsung added the letter “Z” to the fold 2 smartphone

KOMPAS.com – Last year, Samsung introducing its first foldable screen phone, Galaxy Fold. The successor of this mobile phone was announced last week with the name Galaxy Z Fold 2.

Galaxy Z Fold 2 brings significant changes. In addition to specifications, Samsung also changed the name of the Fold line by adding the letter “Z” in front of it.

According to the Head of IM Product Marketing at Samsung Indonesia, Denny Galant, the letter “Z” is affixed as a marker for a series of folding screen phones, like the “S” or “Note” series.

Denny added, this name change was also to reinforce Samsung’s presence in the new mobile category, namely foldable phone.

“Hence the next generation from the Galaxy Fold we call the Galaxy Z Fold 2. So far the name has been used to signify the folding screen category, “said Denny to KompasTekno, Thursday (13/8/2020).

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 itself is likely to enter Indonesia soon. However, Denny has not been able to confirm the exact date and price tag.

“When will we not be sure,” concluded Denny.

Samsung officially announced the arrival of its newest generation foldable cellphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, along with the Galaxy Note 20 series and a number of other new devices, at a virtual launch event last week.

In appearance, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 looks more elegant. Not found notch or wide bangs on the inner OLED screen, as its predecessor was.

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset combined with a combination of RAM and internal memory of 12 GB / 256 GB and 12/512 GB. The battery has a capacity of 4,365 mAh which is supported by fast charging 15 watts.
