The Ramos Carrión Theater resounds to the sound of bugles and drums

The eighth bugle and drum contest, Francisco Carricajo, is organized by the Asociación Luz Penitente de Zamora, in memory of Don Francisco Carricajo, an illustrious person of our Holy Week and the greatest figure of bugles and drums in our city.

Since 2012, the Association has been carrying out the already consecrated bugle and drum contest. They have had all the gangs from the capital (Jesús Nazareno de Zamora, Ciudad de Zamora, Cristo del Perdón), from the province (Jesús Nazareno de Villaralbo, Santmo. Cristo de Morales del Vino, Virgen de la Vega de Benavente, Ciudad de Toro) and, even, from outside (Stmo. Cristo Despojado de Valladolid, Coronación de Espinas de Burgos, Cristo del Amor y de la Paz, Salamanca, Santmo. Cristo del Perdón, Valladolid, Angustias y Soledad, León).

This year, new bands are debuting that progressively evolve a contest that is going further and whose objective is to firmly consolidate this festival and give the bands a day of their own, where they are the true protagonists, showing us the work carried out during so many months of work and, thus, enjoy the wonderful musical heritage that we have and, many times, we do not appreciate as it deserves.
