The photo was taken in March on the grounds of Windsor Castle where the gardens were clearly in bloom. The Queen is an avid horse lover. She has been breeding horses for racing for 60 years.
The relationship between the Queen, Katie and Nightingale seems special (funny) in the photo: the queen looks smaller than the two ponies. Fell ponies are a breed of quiet English mountain ponies, described as the “ideal family ponies”, growing no taller than 1.42m (height at the withers or shoulders). Officially, the Queen is 1.62m, but the years have an impact on height.
