The Provincial Council of Albacete will not appeal the court ruling on the inheritance of Purificazione Urrea

The Provincial Council of Albacete held its plenary session for the month of September this Thursday, in which the Provincial Authority has given proof of unanimity, in favor of the interest of the body and the province, not to challenge the sentence of the tribunal on the Urrea inheritance, putting a “firm point” on a question that has expanded over time since 1968.

Thanking all the political groups for their position, the vice-president and spokesperson of the government team, Fran Valera, reported on the judgment 378/2022 on the dossier of the will of Doña Purificaicón Urrea (item 10 on the agenda) and explained that by the Team government chaired by Santi Cabañero, this decision was taken by consensus, understanding that it is “the most prudent and the best for the interests of the Provincial Council and the province”, thus advancing in the resolution of an issue that dragged on for more five decades.

This is a “cautious” attitude, as the provincial official himself pointed out, clarifying that “when interest is generated, every time a year of this procedure passes, the funds of the Diputación suffer considerably; therefore we understand that the most prudent situation, thinking about those interests, is to put an end to this matter ”.

Valera stressed that the goal has always been to guarantee the interests of the province, citizenship and each locality, stating that in no case has there been ‘bad faith’ on the part of the Provincial Council in possession of these assets. So much so that the diligent action he carried out meant that every million pesetas received in 1968 became today one million euros, just taking into account the value of the rustic farms (valued at the time at 28 million pesetas and currently at 28 million euros ).

In this line, he explained that the provincial body will abide by the judicial ruling with respect and transparency that it has always shown, and working, as it is doing, to guarantee the provision of services and the commitment to improve the structures. , meeting the needs of our peoples.

“This is the first aim of the Diputación and we will have to combine that public service aim with the fulfillment of the sentence; For this reason (in the provisional execution phase of the first instance sentence) we ask for the payment installment (11 million euros for the provision of rural estates) in order to preserve this provision of services “, specified the vice president, specifying, at the same time , that the entity has already deposited one and a half million euros, according to the splitting that it requested from the Court, and the intention is to deposit this amount annually until it is exhausted.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of supervising the establishment of the Foundation and the income of all the assets of the hereditary patrimony in said Foundation. An issue on which all the deputies who took the floor from each of the other political groups of the Provincial Corporation agreed, who made it clear that it is essential to “scrupulously monitor” the fulfillment of the desire of Doña Purificación Urrea.

Green light for the integration of the Provincial Council in the Democracy and Local Government Foundation, with the presence of Santi Cabañero in its governing bodies

With 22 items on the agenda, in this plenary session the green light was also given to the integration of the Provincial Council of Albacete, as an institutional model, into the Democracy and Local Government Foundation, in whose governing bodies the highest responsible will be present of the same provincial institution, Santi Cabañero.
