Housing in some cities in Latin America is reaching high prices according to the Latin American Real Estate Survey (RIAL) prepared by the Center for Research in Finance (CIF) of the Torcuato Di Tella University and Navent (Argentina). To equate prices, all values have been transferred to US dollars.
The report shows that the four most expensive cities are in the southern cone with prices above $ 3,000 per square meter, more than 2,670 euros / m2 at the current exchange rate. The capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires ($ 3,125 / m2, about € 2,788 / m2) is the most expensive city in Latin America, followed by Santiago de Chile (($ 3,111 / m2, about € 2,775 / m2), Montevideo ($ 3,051) / m2, about € 2,722 / m2) and Rio de Janeiro ($ 3,039 / m2, about € 2,788 / m2).
Other cities highlighted as Mexico City appear next with $ 2,482 / m2, which at the current exchange rate reaches 2,214 euros / m2. To carry out the university study, apartments have been taken into account under the same standard of between 20 and 100 m2.
