The preview of the ninth week of the Basketball Champions League

For the Eurohoops team/[email protected]

With two games remaining in the group stage in action this week, the Basketball Champions League regular season is coming to an end and it will be hot in mid-December. With three teams already through to the next stage and only Unicaja remaining unbeaten and playing this week, everything else is still up for grabs.

In Group D, Surne Bilbao would win the group and qualify for the round of 16 with a win over Bahcesehir College. However, Turkish team will still have a chance by losing this match. Conversely, ERA Nymburk would be eliminated with a loss to Igokea, so Nymburk, with just one win so far, is fighting for his life.

In Group E, the duel between MHP Riesen and Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem will decide who will win the group and will qualify directly to the round of 16. The hosts need a win by just one point to achieve this, however Hapoel need to not only beat the Germans but also do so by 10 points or more. Meanwhile, the Bakken Bears welcome Darussafaka and fight for their lives, as one loss means elimination.

In Group G, Unicaja has already secured the lead. Dijon is the center of interest here. If the French team beats Sassari and PAOK loses against Unicaja, Dijon wins home advantage in the play-in. At the other extreme, Sassari would lose all hope of qualifying if Dijon beat them and PAOK beat Unicaja.

Last but not least, in Group H, Tenerife can win the group and qualify for the round of 16 if they beat Peristeri. And if Rytas Vilnius beat Bnei Herzilya at home, the Lithuanian team will also qualify for the play-ins with home advantage.
