Yesterday evening, Le Mans returned to its stadium with the public for the match of the 2nd day of National 1 against Quevilly-Rouen. With a draw 2 goals everywhere, the result was not the one hoped for but beyond the athlete, President Thierry Gomez thanked the supporters for their presence at the stadium as well as the partners and the prefect of la Sarthe for the confidence granted.
In a press release released on the club’s website, he wrote “What a pleasure to have finally been able to find our team on the beautiful lawn of the MMArena with YOU, partners, supporters, subscribers, Manceaux and Sarthois! We couldn’t imagine our first home meeting of the National season without your presence and support. Last night, we all imagined an even happier ending over a spectacular match, but it confirmed what we all already knew: this championship is difficult and will be until its end. It is once again a great challenge to take up TOGETHER, as we took on ENSEMBLE last night, a first challenge in the stands and in the salons. It was in the interest of all of us, to protect ourselves, protect others and hope to continue sharing our “blood and gold” passion at the stadium, to respect the reception protocol validated the day before by the Prefecture. We knew that we would be observed and that we had to be exemplary, for ourselves but also for all the organizers of shows, sports or other. It was not an easy match to win and yet we won it TOGETHER and at all places of the MMArena the barrier gestures were respected (wearing of the mask, physical distancing, catering and monitoring of the match in a seated position …) . So a big thank you to everyone for showing a great sense of responsibility and showing that it was possible to continue to come and watch a match despite the health situation! Thank you to our partners who accepted with a smile the new rules related to the receptive in our lounges. Thank you to our fan clubs for cheering on our team while sitting in the stands. Thank you to our subscribers and to our entire audience for being with us for this first match at MMArena since last March. Thank you to Mr. Patrick DALLENNES, Prefect of Sarthe, for trusting us. This collective victory shows that even in this special time we can experience emotions TOGETHER, adapting and showing responsibility. And we take this opportunity to announce our satisfaction to see that finally the Sarthe amateur clubs will also be able to welcome their public this weekend, on the occasion of the first round of the Coupe de France. But above all, let’s not relax our efforts, as our team did not relax its efforts last night, against QUEVILLY ROUEN MÉTROPOLE. We will be able to meet again on Monday September 7 to welcome another historic club, SC BASTIA (8:45 p.m.). We are already looking forward to seeing YOU again, even masked! So again a BIG THANKS TO ALL! All actors to succeed! Go LE MANS FC!“
