The Premier underlines its strength by selling television rights for a record amount

The Premier League announced a new agreement on English league television rights for a record figure of 6.7 billion pounds (7.8 billion euros) in four years starting with the 2025-2026 season.

This price represents an increase of 1,700 million, 4% more than the 5,000 million paid by Sky, TNT Sports (formerly BT Sports) and Amazon Prime for the rights for the current period, corresponding to the 2022-2025 seasons.

Television rights go from the current 1,244 million euros on average per season to 1,950 million euros with the new agreement.

Comparatively, the agreement signed by LaLiga represents around 950 million euros per season (4,950 for five years), which is 52% less than what was obtained in the Premier.

The broadcasters Sky Sports and TNT Sports will retain their rights to broadcast live matches. Amazon, which had the rights to 20 games per season, has been left out of the agreement on this occasion. Sky will offer at least 215 live matches per season and TNT 52.

Competitive soccer

BBC Sport, for its part, retains the rights to its flagship program ‘Match of the Day’, which offers summaries of each match. “The outcome of this process underlines the strength of the Premier League and is a testament to our clubs, players and coaches who continue to deliver the most competitive football in the world to packed stadiums, and to our fans who create an unrivaled atmosphere every week.” , said Richard Masters, general director of the Premier League.

He ranking of television rights by league is as follows:

-Premier: 1950 million
