Aviko, a potato processing company belonging to the international food company Royal Cosun, has opened the most modern potato chip factory in Europe in Poperinge. 220,000 kilos of potato flakes and 3.5 million kilos of frozen potato chips must be produced every week. “We chose this region because of its central location in the European potato belt and because we are literally here among potato fields,” says Kor Coole, production manager at the new Poperinge site.
