“The Political-Judicial Conspiracy Against Omar Harfush and the International Response”

What happened with Omar Harfush, the owner of the “Third Republic of Lebanon” initiative, who almost became a “victim” of the political-judicial conspiracy to undermine him, resonated with all countries of the world and was covered by the American, European, Arab and Lebanese press.

All indications and reactions to this reprehensible crime confirm that it will not go unnoticed. This crime was represented by using the political power of the judiciary for personal goals and interests to fight all those who fight corruption, led by Omar Harfoush.

It has become certain that a major international move will be prepared to punish the conspirators against Harfush.

The most remarkable response was an article published by the New York Globe newspaper, in which it stated, “In a world where the law is respected and where freedoms are respected and sanctified, everyone knows the extent of the danger to which the owner of the Third Lebanese Republic initiative, Omar Harfush, is exposed in Lebanon after caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati decided to use his judicial arm locally.” In his attempt to twist Harfush’s arm after Mikati sensed the danger of what Harfush is doing in exposing his corruption after filing a legal case against Harfush, which does not at all necessitate any detention of freedom, and fabricating another file with the presence of Israelis inside the European Parliament during a speech Harfush delivered that was praised by the public The Lebanese, and the goal is to fabricate the crime of communicating with Israel.”

The article added, “All this has paralyzed his movement, carrying Lebanese corruption files from one country to another. In light of these developments, international newspapers participated in a broad solidarity campaign adopted by the Milton Friedman Foundation, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, denouncing the attempt to target Harfush under a legal guise.”

Omar Harfouche’s international campaign for peace, secularism, democracy, freedom and civil rights in Lebanon, as well as his fight against corruption, the sectarian political system and extremists, has clearly upset some of the politicians who rule the country. This case is appalling and we want to urge the Lebanese authorities to immediately reconsider their decision, otherwise we will raise our protest in all international institutional forums.
