The PLR’s Proposal: Introducing a “Two-Class” Health Insurance System

This is part of his campaign program for the next elections. The PLR would like to establish “two-class” health insurance.
Philippe Nantermod, vice-president of the party, in the RTS Forum show on Thursday August 31, explains:

“Today, first class is compulsory and second class would be enough for a lot of people. This is what we have with the CFF: the train arrives at the same time, but you can have a formula that saves your budget a little.

The comparison is misleading! In reality, in the PLR project, the wagons of 2nd class policyholders and those of 1st class will not arrive at the same time. 2nd class carriages will be picked up at a suburban station where only certain services will be reimbursed. And the train, with only 1st class wagons, will continue its journey to the terminus which will offer reimbursement for all insurance benefits.

I find that Mr. Nantermod lacks imagination.

With the inspiration that the CFF gives him, why doesn’t he offer a subscription at ½ price. For an annual package to be determined, we would only pay half of the premiums. Stupid, right? More than the idea of the two classes?

Cool CFF all the same, when you think about it!

Note: Today’s compulsory insurance is already 2nd class insurance. To achieve the comfort of 1st class, policyholders who can afford it must take out additional private insurance.
