Introducing the New and Improved Aeropex Openrun Bone Conduction Sports Headphones

The popular bone conduction sports headphones “Aeropex” are now available in a new version: The “Openrun” score points with a shorter charging time and a longer running time.

If you want to motivate yourself with the right playlist while running or cycling, you are faced with the problem that in-ear headphones shield you from what is happening around you. This is dangerous (not only) in traffic, which is why cycling with headphones is prohibited. The Shokz company has already released the bone conduction sports headphones “Aeropex” under the former name Aftershokz. The successor model “Openrun” (€139, available in two sizes) scores with a shorter charging time – ten minutes on the cable provides 1.5 hours of playback. When fully charged, it can last up to eight hours.

What does “bone sound” mean? The headphones do not cover your ears, but rather rest loosely over them using a light bracket. The sound is still clear and clear – although not a high-end experience – and you can also hear ambient noise.

Pairing via Bluetooth with your cell phone or sports watch

Pairing via Bluetooth works easily with a smartphone, smartwatch or running watch. On the left side there is a multifunction button that can be used to skip, hold or take over calls. There are two buttons for on/off and volume hidden on the right. Once you put the Shokz on, they stay where they belong without slipping and don’t get in the way even under your bike helmet. They are resistant to sweat and splash water, and at only 26 g you hardly feel them. However, after three to four hours of constant wear, they can begin to pinch sensitive people. In a noisy environment, telephoning may be difficult for the person you are speaking to in terms of intelligibility.

Compliance note: A set was provided to us free of charge for testing.
