The Signaling section of the Mobility Service of Valencia will conclude throughout this Tuesday the first phase of the pedestrianization of the Town Hall Square and its environment, with the completion of the latest work to delimit the 12,000 square meters of roadway recovered for pedestrian use, formerly used for the passage and parking of motorized vehicles.
This first phase of tactical urban planning has consisted of the reordering of the existing uses of public space and of all the flows of forced motorized circulation “to keep the accessibility of residents, public transport and commercial providers guaranteed,” the consistory has indicated in a release.

Mediterranean vegetation with 30 different species

Second phase: children’s games, shadows and other elements
The mayor has indicated that, despite the fact that at the level of accessibility and mobility the plaza and its environment will already work tomorrow with new operations including the new EMT network, the action of Sustainable Mobility to recover the plaza and its environment as quality spaces is will complete with the execution of the second phase.
In this second performance, commissioned to the Paisatgeria, the recovered space will be provided with children’s play areas, more urban furniture, shadows, new living elements, etc., which will be presented later.
