The Palermo Hippodrome celebrates its 145 years with a historic racing day (video)

On May 7, the Palermo Hippodrome in Buenos Aires celebrated its 145th anniversary with a day of 13 historic races broadcast live on YouTube and which had more than 20,000 viewers.

The Palermo Hippodrome has reiterated that its history is closely related to the great moments of the country. More specifically, prominent personalities such as presidents, writers, musicians and athletes walked through its stands. Horses and turf are a passion that passes from generation to generation, and the Hippodrome continues to be an important setting for social and cultural life.

Referring to this new year of operations, Federico Spangenberg, Equestrian Manager of the Palermo Hippodrome, stressed that it is a very different anniversary due to its empty stands, but equally exciting.

Likewise, he made reference to everything that is behind this entertainment space and said: “The races and the racetrack are the last link in an immense productive chain, which begins in the field. Turf involves 70 thousand direct and indirect jobs throughout the country. Behind the great sporting spectacle there is a fabulous industry that needs racing, so we are proud to be able to keep this activity going and we aspire to return, as soon as possible ”.

On the other hand, the Hipódromo de Palermo has explained in a press release that in addition to having one of the most outstanding tracks at an international level, it has been converted into a large Urban Park that, with free and free entry, brings together sport, history, tradition, innovation, architecture, tourism, entertainment, security and different gastronomic proposals.

This historic Argentine venue stands out for offering other activities such as: art shows, fashion shows by renowned fashion designers, fairs, cultural, sports and wellness activities and shows by national and international artists.

Currently many of these activities are limited by sanitary measures. However, the Hippodrome works hard to receive, as soon as possible, all visitors in the heart of the City, while continuing to contact them remotely through its new remote entertainment platforms and social networks.
