The capacity is full and occupied by students from various educational centers in Talavera, as well as some reading clubs to which we have provided tickets.
In relation to the theme of the conference, it will be fundamentally on the world of Ancient Rome, a subject in which he is a great scholar. On the other hand, the students of our center have read during this course two books by this author at different levels: The Night in which Frankenstein read Don Quixote and I, Julia. Therefore, the objective of the activity is twofold: the contact with a recognized author and the promotion of reading.
In addition, to deepen the knowledge of the ancient world and stimulate the curiosity of the students, they have been working on the preparation and assembly of a Exhibition entitled “Rome Aeterna”, in which a tour of various aspects of life in the ancient capital of the world is made. In it, the students have made several mosaics (three of them 160×100 cm., using more than 30,000 tiles) and, with the collaboration of the teachers, a aqueduct in operation, a banner de las legiones, a period shop with imitation ceramics provided by the Talavera School of Art,
Not only will students from IES Puerta de Cuartos pass through the exhibition, but also Other educational centers in Talavera have been invited for guided tours and, in this way, have an approach to the Roman world.
