The cabinet Newzoo has just published its predictions on the number of video game players for the next few years and the number should increase, in order to reach a significant part of the world population. In 2023, the cabinet estimates that 3 billion people will play video games , by combining all the existing platforms (PC, mobile and consoles), this will represent 39% of the world population, fortunately that video games do not transform us into a bloodthirsty killer, otherwise the end of humanity could be near.
Currently the video game market generates $ 159 billion in revenues, in 2020 the Newzoo firm estimates that revenues will reach $ 200 billion.
The cabinet explains that the various confinements were beneficial for the most popular games. Newzoo estimates that at the end of the year 2020 there will be 2.7 billion players, 2.5 billion on mobile, 1.3 billion on PC and 800 million on consoles. We are more than 2.7 billion in total, because some players play on several platforms.
