the number of serious cases still decreasing

Not enough to claim victory, but the figures continue their slow decline in the fight against the virus in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

Slowly but surely

This Friday, the number of hospitalized persons stands at 1,233, against 1,283 Thursday at the same time. The number of severe cases also continues to decline, with 203 intensive care patients, compared to 217 twenty-four hours ago. We are on the famous “plateau” already mentioned by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency Pierre Pribile. A tray that tilts the right way, for now. This is also confirmed with the number of people who returned home, 2,175, almost a hundred more than on Thursday.

But there is still a long way to go: on the eve of this new weekend, we deplore in the region 770 hospital deaths, and 552 in medico-social establishments, especially in Ehpads. This represents 17 more dead.

Massive screening in retirement homes

In accordance with the latest government recommendations, the ARS Bourgogne-Franche-Comté aims to multiply the number of tests. “We are engaged in a much broader screening strategy among staff and residents of Ehpads,” confirms Pierre Pribile. “We have nearly 100 establishments (96) which have been or are still being screened. 55 have completed screening operations. 7700 tests.“A major issue, according to the ARS, “it is a question of identifying all the positive people, of testing them, of isolating the ‘contact cases’ and not making start again epidemic.”

With regard to PCR tests (nasal swab) Pierre Pribile identifies throughout the region at the moment that there are 66 medical biology laboratories, public and private, capable of doing so in the region. Two thirds of them have already carried out tests via drives, that is to say on people taken directly at the wheel of their car on medical prescription. “We exceeded 2,000 samples a day this week”, says the director of the ARS.
