The death toll from the new Corona virus in Argentina on Tuesday exceeded 300,000 infections, including more than six thousand deaths, after 235 patients died during the past twenty-four hours, in an almost record daily death toll. As announced by the Ministry of Health.
The ministry said that the total number of infected people reached 305,953 after the past twenty-four hours recorded 6,840 new infections, while the total death toll rose to 6,048 deaths, and according to official statistics, 223,531 patients have recovered in Argentina to date.
The death rate from the virus in Argentina, which has a population of 44 million, is close to 115 deaths per million people, according to official figures, which is the third lowest in the region after Uruguay and Paraguay.
And on Monday, thousands demonstrated in Buenos Aires and other cities to protest against the quarantine measures imposed by the government to confront the deadly virus, at a time when the country is witnessing a sharp increase in the number of infections.
A week ago, the number of new daily infections exceeded five thousand, and on the twentieth of March, the government imposed a quarantine on the entire Argentine territory, but it later returned and reduced it in most parts of the country.
