A 48-year-old Algerian left an incomparable trail of devastation on Tuesday evening: He caused several accidents, some of them serious, near Karlsruhe, then brought several vehicles under his control on his more than 100-kilometer escape and threatened a woman with a knife. The escape ended after the robbery of a truck near Herbolzheim and the accident with a Swiss car, whereby this vehicle was dragged several kilometers under the stolen truck and the occupants were injured.
Ultimately, the police managed to arrest south of the Riegel motorway junction.
