The North American races fall victim to Corona – Alpine skiing

There are no races in Beaver Creek this year.

Because of the corona pandemic, the ski calendar is being turned upside down. The first World Cup races have been canceled.

The International Ski Federation (FIS) canceled the two-week Alpine World Cup tour in North America on Thursday. Accordingly, the women’s races in Killington (November 28-29) and Lake Louise (December 1-6) as well as the men’s races in Lake Louise (November 25-29) and Beaver Creek (December 1-6) will not take place due to the effects of the corona pandemic.

Instead, these competitions are to be held through additional races at the already fixed European World Cup locations Val d’Isere, St. Moritz and Courchevel. The new racing calendar will be confirmed by October 3rd.
